I know what you are thinking, “A BOBCAT? IN HAITI??” Well, not that kind of bobcat. This is a tractor that has a scoop on the front and a power hammer on the back and it will definitely help with the building at Fort Jacques! John has been wanting this machine ever since we bought the property at Fort Jacques. It was donated in Canada and sent on a container. Today, it was released from customs. All of the men here thought it was a pretty nice tractor!
Tara went into the warehouse and was working. She went to to the back of the warehouse and was working and looked down and there were two snakes curled up on the floor! She said that she just started screaming and dancing around. I guess David was in the warehouse and came running and there were the snakes!
I do not think Tara thought it was funny but I could not help laughing as she was telling me her story. I guess they got them out of the warehouse and put them outside and away from the buildings. Dave thinks one of them will come back because he left about 3 inches of his tail in the warehouse! I did not ask how that happened. I really did not want to know!
Holli and Patrick live on the other side of the warehouse, and Holli is not happy that snakes were in the room beside them! When the builders were building the wall around the property, they found lots of snakes when they were digging. I thought most of the snakes around our area had been killed out. I guess not!
John said if he had had an aquarium with him that he would have brought the snakes to the main house to help us control the rat population! Since the earthquake, we have had triple the rats as we had before and that is a lot of rats! Maybe snakes would help? But then again, there is no way I am having snakes in my yard!!!!!!
