A little bit of this….A little bit of that…

Well, I am in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (I have to look up how to spell this every time I write it!)  It is a 3 hours and 9 minutes flight from Toronto to here!  My feet are swollen from sitting on the airplane and hurt terribly!  There is an hour time difference so even though it says it’s only 11:40 PM here, my body is still on Toronto time where it is 12:40 AM!  I am tired but thankfully can sleep in tomorrow since Lea LaPointe and and her husband, Chris Davies will be gone tomorrow until late afternoon.  I am going to sleep as long as I can!

This morning, I visited the chiropractor and then Jane and I along with her daughter, drove 1 1/2 hours to Toronto.  I had a meeting with Mission of Tears Adoption Agency.  I had never met the staff there even though I had done adoptions with them since many years ago and had talked with them on the phone.  it is nice to be able to put a face to the name now.  Pastor Gordon Lewis the head of Mission of Tears took me to the airport but the traffic was so horrible that a 30 minute trip from his office to the airport turned into a 1 3/4 hour trip!  I was almost late getting there.  I finally checked in online while stuck in traffic and that saved me a lot of time.  Thankfully, there was not a big waiting line at security and I was able to get to my gate just as the plane was boarding.

Tomorrow night I will be speaking here in Saskatoon to a group of people who helped load a container for Haiti after the earthquake and others who are interested in Haiti and GLA.  It is going to be a steak dinner so that should be yummy and fun too!

I have met the nicest people on this trip.  I had several people come to our meetings that first heard about GLA through this blog!  These are not necessarily people who are thinking of adopting or coming to Haiti, but just started reading this blog.  It just amazes me that people follow this blog on a regular basis!  Smile

GUESS WHAT!  We got our first dossier “post-earthquake” for Canada done today!  It took 8 months from the time the dossier went into IBESR until the visa was issued!  Is that not the most amazing thing?  We are all very excited and I know Berline’s family in New Brunswick must be floating on clouds tonight as they prepare to come to Haiti to take her home!  Congratulations!

*Thanks to Joan Macklin for cutting my bangs this morning before I left her home in Cobourg, Ontario! She did a wonderful job and not having my bangs in my eyes helped keep me sane today! Well, at least not having my bangs too long helped keep me from going totally insane!Disappointed smile

*Thanks to Jane Blannin-Bruleigh for everything she did to make the weekend fantastic!  Everyone has worked so hard to make every event to be the best it could be!  I give you all a gold star for your hard work!  Star

*Quote from Mother Theresa:

Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat. If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.

**How can you help the unwanted, unloved,…the forgotten ones?  Can you give $10 per month?  Are you willing to sacrifice that extra cup of coffee, donut, croissant?  What is a life worth?

GLA is needs funds to care for the children.  Please help us make a difference.
