A little of This and a little of That…
We are doing DNA on all kids who come for adoption. The International community (UNICEF, SAVE the CHILDREN) and foreign countries adopting from GLA recommend DNA on the children especially since the earthquake. I used to do DNA for American adoptions anyway so will just do for all children now.
I am sending out proposals starting tomorrow. I have decided that September is the month to start adoptions again. The DNA will not be done on all of the children, but we are working on getting it done as quickly as possible.
I worked all day today on a new web page called “Donate Monthly with a Credit Card”. Some of our donors asked for automatic recurring credit card donations for other GLA Ministries like I did with sponsorship. So, I tried to do it for all of our other ministries. Someone try one of them out and let me know if it works! :) http://www.glahaiti.org/credit_card_donations
Carrol Williams, our new adoption coordinator, will be going home for the birth of a new grandchild and also a daughter’s wedding on September 8. She will return on September 28.
Susie Schuelke, our new update coordinator, will be going home for her best friend’s wedding on the 15th and will gone 5 days.
I will be leaving on September 9th and will return in October. I will attending the GLA annual Fundraiser in Colorado Springs and would love to see several of you there! My 90 year old mother is flying out to go to the fundraiser, as is my oldest sister who lives in Florida.
I am also going to be working on updating some of the web site while I am out. John and I are spending two days hidden away by ourselves! I have not even told John where we are going! We will only answer the phone if it is someone from Haiti! We will not be working. I may even leave my laptop at home…maybe. :)
John and I need some time away from work and just alone together for a couple of days. We will be doing nothing except sightseeing and sleeping late! At least that is the idea right now! LOL
