An Exciting night in the Emergency Room!
I came home from the fundraiser on Saturday night and had a huge headache. It just kept getting worse and by midnight I was chilling and had a high fever. My fever would go up and down. But Sunday night about 10 PM, my fever was 103.5 F and I was unaware of what was going on around me. I was in a lot of pain from chilling as my fever continued to rise. John was at our daughter, Kate’s house, and I told my sister Carol to call him and tell him to come home. That is the last thing I remember until the ambulance showed up to take me to the hospital!
John said that when he arrived home I was totally out of my head. I was begging him for a drink of water but couldn’t sit up to drink it. I started to become aware of what was going on in the ambulance on the way to the hospital even though I was not clear in my mind what was going on. They would ask me questions and I did not know the answers!
So I spent the night in the Emergency Room and I look like a pin cushion from all of the needle marks. At first, the doctor thought it might be Dengue Fever and so everyone had to wear masks when in the room with me. But the only thing that showed up in the blood work with a kidney infection which I was on antibiotics for but the antibiotic was not working.
The ER doctor wanted to keep me in the hospital a day or two because me fever had been so high, but we do not have medical insurance and since I was feeling better, I just wanted to come home.
Please say a little prayer for me that I will get well soon and no more high fever!
