It is with a heavy heart that I write today about the passing of Marvensley. Without going into too much detail, Marvensley's seizures continued on and off over the weekend. His lab results came back showing his potassium, calcium, and sodium levels were all very low. We attempted to increase the levels by adding these electrolytes to his IV infusion. Unfortunately, even these changes failed to make a difference in his condition. Fluctuations in electrolytes in children like Marvensley are very difficult to manage, especially without a means of monitoring them. Saturday night he began seizing continuously which caused his oxygen levels to drop and stay well below the normal levels. Marvensley had fought long and hard but was just unable to come back from here. Around four in the morning on Sunday, Marvensley's heart rate and oxygen levels drifted further and further until he finally took his last breath. He suffered a long time here on this earth and has now been called home. There is comfort knowing he is now smiling and laughing in the loving arms of Jesus. We love you Marvensley...
