I thought you might like to see what is happening at Fort Jacques. there have been quite a few changes to the staff house, the gazebo, and the Toddler House building site. A team from Winnipeg, Manitoba are moving literally TONS of rocks to get them out of the way so some foundations can be built.
Enjoy the photos! Thanks, Georges Gauvreau for taking these for me today!
The Staff House looks so nice inside and the kitchen is beautiful! I cannot thank all of the volunteers who worked on this house enough for all of the work they did on getting this house finished!
The team from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, have worked so hard moving the huge rock piles and it has been very difficult work. They don’t have them all moved yet, but they made a big dent in the pile! That is a LOT of rocks! They have also stained the Gazebo and spent today playing with the children on the main house balcony!
One of the team members is a chef and he spent a couple of half days in the kitchen working with our kitchen staff. Yesterday, he made bread pudding with a vanilla sauce to go over it. It was so YUMMY!
We had a little bit of lumber and John decided to start building a gazebo where visitors could sit and eat their lunches or just visit with each other. They have worked on it a little at a time between other projects. It is finally finished and it looks really nice!
