Clothing and tents shared with another orphanage.

I was recently talking to Dr. Jacob Bernard who is the director of New Life Link orphanage.  Dr. Bernard told me that he had not received many donations and would love to have some tents for some people who have asked him for help and clothes for the children.  When we received the last container, there was so many bags of clothing that we loaded a couple of trucks of tents and bags of clothing and took them to the orphanage.

Dr. Bernard also runs a very nice guesthouse.  There was a team there and they had brought things in for the nannies and children but it was not enough.  God multiplied it when our trucks came and everyone was able to get some new clothing!

They say the children were so excited to pick out outfits for themselves and the workers were just as excited when they were able to get some clothing too!

This next week we plan on doing distributions at four churches in the Fort Jacques area.  We also will be taking clothing to another orphanage in Petionville. Frequently, truck loads of items are going to a church in Port-au-Prince where it is distributed by the church people.  It is so nice to see those truck loads of donations going out the gate to those who need them!

I just love the typical looks from the children. The little boy is holding his new clothes and his looks says "where are the toys". The little girl with the white ribbons in her hair is so delighted with new clothes. She looks like "oh, I can dress up and look pretty". The photos are so priceless. God bless GLA and all of the people helping those in need. My Thanksgiving prayer is being thankful for all of the blessings from our God worldwide.

I had the absolute privledge and joy to be a part of collecting these items. When the last container arrived and I saw the pictures of the the totes being unloaded and stored, seeing my hand writting on some of them, it was the first time since last Jan that I actually felt like I'd done something that made a difference and really brought tears to my eyes, but to see some of it actually in the hands of the children is even more inspiring- I can't help wondering, what can I do next? :-) I'm overjoyed!
