Countdown is at 111 days before toddlers move

From now until the toddlers are moved to Fort Jacques, I will do a countdown of the time we have left to finish the toddlers compound.

We are now at 111 days before the toddlers have to be all moved to Fort Jacques and this past week we were blessed with another team from Illinois. They worked hard all week with smiles on their faces. They did all the grout on both floors of the school building.

They put up the suffit and facia on one end of the school and half of the suffit on the other side.

One of the team member is a mechanic and he fixed three cars while here.

The team members, with the help of one of our volunteer, put up the ceiling in one classroom and half the ceiling in the other one. They primed all the walls inside and outside of the school.

Here is a picture of the cross on the first floor of the school with all the grout done. The cross is more visible than before and we all love it.

On the next 3 pictures you can see how the school looks now. The red on the outside looks great and remains us of the country side red school houses from back home.

Patrick Bickel who is back from vacation worked with our Haitian crew to level the playground, lay down ground fabric then layers of gravel and sand to get the playground ready for the turf.

We can not wait for next week to see the turf on the playground.

In the last few weeks, we had 2 of the long term volunteers come up to Fort Jacques 2 days a week to help Jocelyne Gauvreau with inventory and sorting clothes.

Finally, the population of pets at Fort Jacques went from 3 to 8 as Sophie, one of Patrick's dog had 5 puppies. You can see 2 on this picture and the other 3 in the next pictures.

One hundred and eleven days to go and lots of work to do. If you can come and help, we will welcome you with open arms.

Stay tune as the countdown continues we will keep you updated with the progress.
