I have received several emails from people telling how much fun they had at the fundraiser in October.
Glenn Thamer, GLA Canadian President, says that this year’s fundraiser was a huge success! Nearly 400 people came and the speaker was all you would ever want, funny, serious, gave the gospel, and pleaded for help for GLA and Haiti.
Ron Hamm, the best pastry chef I know, made scrumptious and plentiful desserts. I have tasted some of Ron’s desserts and they are fantastic! They also had live and silent auctions that went well.
They set up a mock tent city. They had 125 still 11x14 photos taken by Brian Gavriloff, a journalist photographer from Canada that he took in June when he was visiting GLA, that they put up and people could imagine they were in PAP at a tent city! They also had a wonderful video by Don Hammond, a journalist cinematographer who was also in Haiti in June, that was very powerful about GLA and the earthquake.
The proceeds will go toward the building at Fort Jacques and operating expenses at GLA. All of us here at GLA want to thank everyone who helped make the Edmonton annual fundraiser such a HUGE success.
