Frantina is doing well her first day after surgery. She still has an IV and catheter for her urine. She is receiving nebulizer treatments for congestion.
This afternoon, the doctors allowed her to sit on Vivianne’s lap and also allowed her to have sips of apple juice.
She was a little irritable this afternoon and cries when you move her around, but the pain medication they are giving her seems to be covering most of her pain.
Tomorrow, she can sit up more and we hope they will allow her to have more than a few ounces of apple juice. She really wants her bottle.
She is moving both of her legs although she moves the left one more than the right one, but I’m just thankful that she is moving both of them!
The doctor did an Xray tonight of her neck and the metal plate and cylinder that he put around her spine. There seems to be only one incision on her neck starting in front and going to the side. The plate starts just under her jaw line and goes down. Katie and I both had it in our heads that this was lower than what it is. It shows up really well on the Xray and I’ll try to take a photo of it tomorrow to show you!
Thank you all for your prayers and we pray that she starts getting strength in her legs and we can start rehabilitation exercises as soon as she heals.
