It has been very frustrating dealing with medical care in the Dominican Republic. Everyone is so nice and have donated their services, but the care is just different than what we are used to.
Today, the surgeon told us a bed is not available for Frantina and the thoracic surgeon who will assist in the operation has another surgery scheduled for tomorrow. The next time a spot is open for surgery is Wednesday, the 25th of April!
The surgeon said that when a bed comes open at the hospital, we must take Frantina and admit her so that we can hold the bed. This means sleeping in a chair beside her bed in a room with 10 other mothers and babies.
We have been praying that God’s will be done in all planning and scheduling of the surgery. So we must accept the delay, but it can be very frustrating…
