From Surviving to Thriving... Story #5

Early in December we got a call from Samaritan's Purse letting us know they had a young girl just about 1 year old. This little one is such a fighter. Her story is this: about eight days after not hearing from her sister, this little girl's aunt went to the home of her sister and niece to see how they were. The only thing she found in an empty house was a beautiful baby girl, abandoned by her mother and barely clinging to life. Thankfully, the aunt knew to call Samaritan's Purse who then contacted us. We received her the afternoon of  Dec 3rd, 2012, she weighed 11lbs 15oz and was severely dehydrated and withdrawn. After many days of IV hydration, food, milk, medications, her personality started to blossom. You could tell she had been a healthy and happy little girl prior to being abandoned and that is the girl we have grown to absolutely love. She has gained a little over 14 lbs in the past 11 months and is now 26lbs 2oz. She is beautiful in every sense of the word. Her story is just another example of the strength of a child. She has truly transformed from surviving to THRIVING!

But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
