Thursday was a long day. Traveling always wears me out but I did very good with the traveling and my back was not too painful that evening after I arrived! My suitcase was even the first one off the belt!
John had left our home in Colorado Springs about the time my plane landed. We live about 15 minutes from the airport, and the runway at the Colorado Springs airport is so long that it takes us about 10 minutes to get to the terminal. So it works out good to leave the house when the plane lands!
It feels good to be in my little house. Last time I was here after my trip to Europe, my daughter Katie and her family and Melinda Wallace, who works in the GLA office, and her family were living in the house and it was crowded! So I didn’t even stay here. But now, they have moved to their own places and I have my little house back!
I had a lot of pain in my right hip after working up at the warehouse in Fort Jacques one day going through medical supplies with Susan. I think I had twisted too many times lifting boxes. So first thing on Friday morning, I went to see the chiropractor. It still hurts, but hopefully after a couple of chiropractic treatments and a lot of cold packs to my back, it will go away!
Last evening, John and I went to our daughter, Kate’s, new house, and helped her put beds together and arrange all of the bedrooms so they can sleep in them. We worked for 4 hours! By the end of the evening, I could hardly move and had to come home and put ice on my back. But this morning, my back is not bad and hopefully, I will have a quiet day and have some time to recuperate from my travel.
It is a little cold this morning. I have been in Colorado in September before and them have snow while I was here! It is not THAT cold, but this morning it is cool enough that I do not want to go outside and eat my breakfast on the back deck! it was really nice during the day yesterday, but is very cool at night.
Yesterday, Kate brought over the dress I had ordered for the fundraiser. I love it! It is very flattering and feels good on. I think it will perfect for the event on the 18th. I am hoping that people in Colorado will come and enjoy the evening with us. It is going to be a great time!! Call 719-638-4348 or write me at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. I would love to see some of my families come so I can see you!
John and I are going away for 2 days on Sunday, so I will not be writing for a couple of days. I will let you know where we went after I return. If anything exciting happens in Haiti, I will sure and let you all know!
