It's been a while.
Sorry, for the lack of posts the past month or so! Lots of things have happened; many children have come and gone. It has been amazing to see so many children go home with their families after being here for assistance or seeing an adoptive family get to bring their child home! What a beautiful site!
In the past month alone we have received 5 children for adoption into the NICU and a set of twins have come for assistance. As of right now five of our twelve children in the NICU are here for assistance along with other children we have for assistance in the other nurseries. I have lots of updates on some of our children that I have written about in the past and also some new stories to tell! For tonight, I'll just go into the happenings of today.
It was quite the busy day, our NICU cribs were full, and we had three babies waiting to join the NICU crew. So, we did some crib and nursery changes and made room for those three babies! The nurses and nannies of the NICU welcomed a set of one month old, boy and girl, twins and a single one day old baby girl. The twins are doing very well, both healthy and growing. Thankfully, Mama had received help for the twins by some of our local friends prior to bringing them to us. The single baby girl has a unilateral cleft lip and palate. We tried a special nipple for her to suck but she is unable to do so at this point in time, so as of right now, she has an NG-tube for feedings. I have high hopes though that she will soon be able to use the specialized bottle and nipple though.
Here are pictures of our new babies! They are absolutely beautiful!
Definitely keep an eye out for some more updates and please keep praying for all the babies, toddlers, and staff here. Tis the season for runny noses! All of the Haitian staff and foreign staff do our very best to take care of these precious little ones until they are able to go back to their Haiti homes or home with their adoptive families. Your kind words and prayers are so encouraging and appreciated.
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
