The quote "Knowledge is Power" is attributed to Sir Francis Bacon. I don't think he was thinking about the kids in Haiti when he said that, but it applies.
For the 2013-2014 school year, we are supporting 325 children by sending them to school. These are kids whos parents don't have the money to be able to send them to school. These are kids who would be "on the street" without our help.
Typically, most people donate their support for the education program on a monthly basis (I know I do). This creates a cash flow problem because we have to pay half of the tuition at the start and half in January.
I would like to change the world for the kids in Haiti by not only providing them with an education but by getting "ahead" on the plan so that in the fall of 2014, we'll have the funds necessary to pay the entire amount needed. In other words, I'd like to get 1 year ahead on the pledges. So my monthly donation for tuition for two kids during the 2014-2015 school year would pay for the 2015-2016 school year.
Education is Knowledge and Knowledge is Power - let's work hard this year and build a solid foundation under the education program so that we can change the world in Haiti by providing education to those who would have none.
Expect to hear more about this soon, but thank you for all you do to help us change the world for these kids......
