Lights in the Night

EGlowsticks (26)What fun we had this evening!  A team from Canada who has spent the last week  and a half here at GLA finished off their trip with a glow stick party at Kay B.  Right after dinner AGlowsticks (28)the kids headed upstairs, bathed, and suited up in their pjs.  They put their sandals back on and waited for the team to come back down from the guest house and start the party.   SO much excitement no idea how to channel it, the kids were jumping, cheering, and hugging each other as the minutes ticked by…and then the team arrived.  Single file down the stairs turned into a mob as their little feet reached the paved yard and their prize was in sight.

FGlowsticks (25) DGlowsticks (29) The girls snapped the sticks and the kids gave and “awe” as their glow illuminated each others faces.  After each had received theirs the mob dispersed down the yard as  two dozen little pairs of hands held their illuminates high waving them from side to side, throwing them up in the air and watching them fall down, sticking them in their hair, on the sandals, and through the button holes on their pjs.  Yvenson held his blue tube over his eyes, wonder and amazement filling out the smile dimples on his face as he watched the world through a hued glow.

When the fun was over the kids marched back upstairs and removing their sandals they jumped into bed.  Glow sticks in hand still admiring the colored lights, I am quite sure this will be a night fondly remembered.
