Things have been moving forward at Fort Jacques. The changes are not as drastic as they have been earlier in the year but steady improvements have been made on the toddler compound. The last couple of months, our Haitian crew has been mixing and pouring a lot of concrete.
This is the area between houses 5 and 6. A good part of this will be fenced up for the power system of the toddler compound.
In the picture below, you can see the area where the kids will play with their scooters, bicycle and roller blades. It is about twice the size of the place they have at the toddler house presently. A railing will go around this whole area for safety.
They also built many retaining walls around the area where the house for the director of the toddler house will be built.
Almost all of the plumbing in the toddler houses has been completed. You can see in the pictures are the new on demand water heaters for each houses.
The houses only needs a bit of work and a good cleaning and they will be ready. This week, we have a team from Crossroad church who are putting up plywood on the classroom walls in the school and sanding the playground that has been installed.
They should have the playground painted by the end of the week.
We are quite excited as the astro turf that was donated has been cleared at custom and should be coming up to Fort Jacques to be installed soon.
Next week we will have 3 men staying at Fort Jacques and tilling both floors of the school.
The rent for the Toddler House at it's current location is paid through 1st of December. We need more work teams to help us get moved up before the 1st of December!
We are getting closer to getting the toddlers at Fort Jacques - one project at a time.
