New Kids on the Block
With Toddler House having less than a third of our kids in the adoption process and none that have gone home to their Forever Families in the last 6 months we are sitting at a pretty full capacity, but that doesn’t hold the little ones from the Main House back from growing. No Sir, they are stilling growing, thriving, and developing, and ready to go to pre-school, be with older children, and learn big kid things. With our beds being full we cannot move them up permanently yet, but today five of these chubby adorable true little toddlers came up for a morning play date, and will continue to do so to help them stretch their legs and learn new things. James, Susie, and Emelyne brought up the little tykes all ready for an adventure with bright eyes and inquisitive glances.
The nannies were thrilled, as they
love to baby on little ones, especially during the morning hours when their oldest are in school and they have some quieter moments in the yard just to be with the 2 and 3 yrs olds. As Susie told them the kids’ names the ladies repeated them over and over, memorizing them quickly, (though we did put tape name tags on their backs as well to help) and “claiming” each one for a Welcome cuddle to the Toddler House.
The kids all did amazing well.
Some remembered their friends from the last batch of 2 yr olds that moved
up from the Main House and rekindled old friendships. Sperencia was especially delighted to see Faland and the two held hands and walked around the yard, Sperencia showing her all the special places, till at last they found a big wheels trike and hopped on for a tandem ride. At noon they headed back down to the Main House for lunch and their usual afternoon routine, but we look forward with happy anticipation to seeing their faces morning after morning and watching as they develop and grow.
