Nine admissions to GLA since I have been traveling!

I was supposed to return to Haiti today but I have a horrible cold, laryngitis, and an ear infection, so I have put off flying until my ear infection gets better.  I will be leaving Colorado on Monday, December 5.  I am on an antibiotic and hopefully, I will be well by Monday.  I knew when I left Chicago and my ear wouldn’t pop and I had a lot of pain in it that I would probably have a problem.  But I think I did pretty well for all of the airplane rides I took!

Melissa and Susie tell me that we have had 9 admissions to the nursery since I left.  I haven’t blogged about Haiti since I left!  I know that Susan Westwood has been very busy with sick babies in the NICU.  I am thankful that there is an Australian nurse there right now who has been a big help to her during my absence.

Four of the children are for assistance.  They are there for a short time while they grow and get healthy.  They will eventually go back home to their families.  I think this is the most children we have had for assistance at any one time for quite awhile!

Five of the children are for adoption.  Their parents for one reason or another could not keep them and care for them.  As I was writing this blog update, another child was admitted and so I had to change what I wrote!  I better post this quickly, but I have to update it again!  Winking smile

I have been following your blogs for a while and I would like to know if the children available for adoption are through a specific agency or direct from GLA? If you could let me know. Thanks.

Such precious sweet hearts! I love GLA and the work you are doing to keep families together. My heart aches to adopt, praying the restrictions ease up so more families qualify! It will be another 6 years until my age and husbands age meet the requirement! Prayers and donations until then!

Dixie, please gets LOTS of rest, perhaps this will allow you to have a bit of a pause after your incredibly hectic tour!!!!! Doreen just called me today to tell me that a drug store in Port Hope (that is where you saw the chiropractor) is going out of business. They had diapers on at an incredible sale price and so she bought 14 boxes!!! We have people from a variety of churches donating items, including suitcases and another volunteer confirmed this week! Your visit was such a blessing for us!!! Our next task is to look for a team tshirt! Just looking at these beautiful babies makes me eager to be at GLA again. Take good care of yourself. blessings,
