Les Enfants de Jesus (The Children of Jesus), located in the mountains above GLA in the village of Kenscoff, is run by a committee made up of Haitian nationals. They started the orphanage for children in the Kenscoff area who were orphaned, abandoned, or whose families were economically unable to provide for them. They currently have 20 children in the orphanage.
This orphanage approached us for assistance after we started working with the mayor of Kenscoff on a project for orphans abandoned in the Kenscoff area. The mayor brought the committee to see us and to talk about working together to help the orphans.
The GLA Staff decided to try and raise some funds for the orphanage so that the children could receive good food, medical care, clothing and attend school. We need sponsors for the children in the orphanage. We also need help with special projects for the orphanage. We try to help the orphanage raise funds for their daily needs. We are blessed most when we reach out to help others.
