Pillow Fights

AAA (2) Three cheers for the Iowa Timberline Church Team and their high energy morning at Toddler House this week!  One of the team members adopted two children from Toddler House last year and having been to GLA, and heard all the stories from her kids about what life at Kay B is like she and her fellow team members came up with a project easy enough to involve all the kids and practical enough to be used everyday.  Pillows!  The team of ten came by on Wednesday morning brimming with energy and enthusiasm ready to play, create, teach, love, repair, and anything else that they saw they could step in and assist with.  They brought suitcases full of brightly colored soccer balls, jump ropes, balloons, candy, bubbles, and craft supplies.  We called off school and let the kids just enjoy all the attention and fun, with no mind for their regular schedule.  DSC04565While some played basketball and frizz bee, others fixed our plumbing issues, hung balcony blinds, and installed doorknobs.  Mid morning the crew pulled chairs together in a circle and one by one helped the kids learn how to “sew” the two sides of fleece AAA fabric together with knots.  It was really a great idea, and easy enough that many of the kids could help with their own.  They sewed name tags on each one, and the kids eagerlyAAA (3) put them into use while still outside in the yard!  Samy had the creative idea to sit on his as a cushion and the rest of the 3 year olds followed his lead.  Before they got dirty Nicole and Darline sent the kids upstairs to place  them on their beds and save them for a good nights rest.  THANK YOU, Timberline Team for your encouragement, for your skill, and for coming with such cheerful and happy hearts!

“Your love has given us great joy and encouragement….”  Philemon 1:7 NIV (paraphrased)

What a blessing it has been to follow along online and see all the love and encouragement given to not only the Haitian adults but the children. I am so grateful and praise our Lord, Jesus Christ, for all the sacrifices made on behalf of these precious souls by the ministries that are ongoing but in particular Timberline Church.
