Please, we need your help to keep GLA running…

We desperately need donations to run the orphanage.  We have enough funds to last a month and then we will not be able to pay our staff or buy food.  Most of you who know me, know that I do not usually panic over funds.  I don’t usually get too stressed because God has always provided, but I need to let you know of our need. We are not receiving enough General Funds donations to run the orphanage.

In our USA office, if someone sends in designated funds for building or sponsorship, then those funds must be used for those things. So any money that is sitting in those accounts, cannot be used to buy food, pay staff, or be used to take care of the babies!

We need donations to go into our General Funds to buy food, diapers, baby formula, pay staff salaries, and incidental expenses to run the orphanage. In trying to cut costs,  I have sat down with the staff and talked about sending children home who are here for assistance, I let one of our drivers go this past week, and I have asked the office staff to hold off on some paperwork for the children until more funds come in.  The Toddler House desperately needs new mattresses for their beds, but I have told them that we can’t order them right now because we don’t have the $3000 USD needed to buy the 70 mattresses.

IBESR contacted us and asked if we could take some severely malnourished children from an orphanage that they are closing in Kenscoff.  They have 27 children to place.  How can we help when I am worrying about being able to feed the children that we have here already at the orphanage?  And of course, I want to take all of the babies and get them well!  One of the children has a heart condition and needs medical treatment.  I want to take that child desperately!

GLA supporters have always been there for us when we have needed funds.  We are on our knees in prayers asking God to touch your hearts that you will hear that this is a true need and will give today.  Please help us with the funds we need to run the orphanage.

No gift is too small, I have faith that God will multiply it to meet our needs!

Hey Dixie! It sucks that this is happening... I am reminded od something we learnt in class today. Our teacher told us that sometimes we need to start from scratch in order to change the culture we live in. When that has to do with our vocation, God will provide if your idea is in line with his. I believe that GLA is right where it needs to be and that if I could help I will. I just want to remind you about what Jesus talks about in Matthew 6, Do Not Worry... 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
