Prayer requests and updates from the Nursery
Hello from the Nursery,
Some of you may have heard we had a baby go to be with Jesus on Monday. She had an existing condition that made her more vulnerable to any respiratory infection. We currently have a virus spreading around the main house and some of the children here are presenting with similar symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea. None as severe as the precious angel though. We currently have one child on an IV due to vomiting and the rest of the children are being treated with medication and oral rehydration serum around the clock. I believe Dixie said it best in her most recent facebook post... "Life can be so difficult in Haiti especially when we are working with limited resources". If you could, please lift up all the children here at GLA along with this little angel's biological and adoptive family.
Also, a few people have been asking for an update on little Djulika; if you need a reminder here is my previous post http://godslittlestangelsinhaiti.org/notesfromthenursery/2013/05/one-month-one-kilogram-prayer-request-for-djulika/. She is doing well! She is off of oxygen and the incubator is also off! Djulika is now up from 2lb 2oz (1kg) to 3lbs 6oz in less than two weeks! She still needs lots of prayer as she continues to grow. We are praying that she does not contract the virus going around. Although we are always cautious, we are all using extra precaution during this time. I do believe though, she is definitely transitioning from surviving to thriving!
Honestly, Surviving to Thriving is definitely a goal for these children and I've kind of adopted this motto when we receive sick children. The staff here at GLA strives to love all of the children and care for them as best as we can here in Haiti; helping them transition from just trying to survive to actually living and thriving. We constantly are praying for the children here and their future beyond GLA and I thank YOU for also adding all of these children to your prayers!
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
