It is so nice when little preemies go home from GLA. They come in tiny, sick, needing oxygen and a month later, they go home with their mama and papa!
A mission in Cabaret brought the twin boys on the 7th of December because they were so tiny. These were the parents’ first babies.
Dad wanted to name them both Adam! Spelling each a little different, but still pronounced Adam. After much discussion, it was decided at least while at GLA, they would be called Jonathan and Adam, just so we could keep them straight while here! Papa had told the missionary that came with them that was the twins names and then when he got here, he called them both Adam. Hopefully, papa will keep their names as they are now.
Shortly, after the twins were brought, mom got very sick and had to leave to go home to the hospital and recuperate. She had not been back to see the boys since she left well before Christmas! Papa had been here to visit, but not mother.
The boys were fragile and needed oxygen until after Christmastime. Jonathan especially was the largest twin, but needed oxygen supplement the longest! But once they started gaining weight and growing, they grew by leaps and bounds!
On Tuesday, when the mama came to take them home, they were both well on their way to weighing 6 pounds each and even had fat little faces! The mother was just so happy to see them and to see how big they were!
She had a notebook with her and I was telling her things she needed to do for them and she took out the notebook and said “please write it all down for me! I do not want to forget anything!”
Their mother will be a good mother and I’m so very happy for her and her husband. Please keep the boys in your prayers that they will continue to grow and thrive at home with their family.
