Profits from Book about Haiti’s Children pay for Hearing Screening Machine!

Aranea and Henk Boorsma from the Netherlands put together a beautiful book about the children of Haiti.  They took the photos and wrote the book during the time they were adopting their son, Moise, from GLA.  I want to say a big THANK YOU to Aranea and Henk for donating the funds to buy this machine.

Other funds did come in for the machine and we used those funds to buy the supplies needed to test all of the children. We needed extra special batteries, ear tips for all sizes, etc.   I thank everyone who helped get this machine and supplies for the orphanage.  We will receive it the first of December and start testing all of the children soon after that.

The information on the book is listed below.  It is a wonderful book to have and show your family and friends.  Take a look at it on their website at www.forhaiti.com.

Children of Haiti is a hardcover photo book (21 x 25 cm) compiled by Aranea Boorsma with 64 full color photographs made by photographer Henk Boorsma. The book will sell at € 14.95 (approx. $20.32 US). The proceeds will go entirely to different projects concerning children and education in Haiti. The book contains beautiful photographs, facts about the country, and maps of Haiti and the Caribbean. The photographs will give you an idea of the Haitians/ everyday life, the scenery, and will give you a glimpse of a children’s home.

The reason for this book is the adoption of their son Moise. They feel like they have received something beautiful from Haiti; and wanted to do something good in return for this beautiful country and her proud inhabitants.

Check out their web site in English  www.forhaiti.com and in French www.forhaiti.com/fr

The book is published in 4 languages (English, French, Dutch and German).
