Sad Morning at GLA…
Edna held her own during the night which surprised all of us, but by 8 AM she was failing. She was just tired and taking short shallow breaths which was causing her blood gases to be off. Susan tried to give her medication to correct them, but she just stopped breathing on her own at all.
I finally made the decision, that we would stop CPR. We could not go another day like yesterday and she was not even trying to breath on her own. She was not moving like she was yesterday. Her pupils were dilated and fixed.
Edna died held close to Susan’s heart and wrapped in her arms. Her mother and father were not here, but the rest of us loved her and did our best. Now Edna is in Jesus’ arms.
Pray for the parents. Edna now makes the third child they have lost. The parents will be grieving deeply. We ask that God send Angels to wrap their arms around the parents and give them courage to go on.
