This week the School Sponsorship Program has gotten off to a fantastic start! We have had 269 students come to enroll this week and expect another 150 to 200 before the program closes at the beginning of August. Tiffany Akeo is responsible for the School Sponsorship here in Haiti and Terry Robinson is responsible for it at the office in Colorado. Both of them are here for this week of enrollment! Terry needed to see what happens on this side of the program so that she can better serve our sponsors and answer their questions. It has been fun having here here in Haiti.
The morning starts early with families arriving by 7 AM to wait for the staff to start taking information at 8 AM. The Haitian staff starts filling out information forms and having the students fill out short questionnaires that tell us a little about what has happened in their lives in the last year. Then Tiffany and Terry take photos and videos for our information packets and sponsorship forms.
The whole process is quite involved and requires about 4 National staff and 2 foreign staff to get it completed! It is fun watching these children come back year after year. We watch them grow and go from toddlers to young adults!
If you are a sponsor but have not sent in your sponsorship funds yet, please take a moment to do so at Donate School Sponsorship.
If you would like to send a child to school, please go to http://www.glahaiti.org/school-sponsorship and sign up today!
Make the difference in the life of a child by giving him the gift of reading and writing!
