The four year anniversary of the earthquake that changed Haiti forever was yesterday.
It was a very emotional day for many. Myself included.
For some the reality of a new "reality" would hit them immediately. Others would see it unwind much more slowly. For many it is still unwinding.
But everyone who cares about Haiti, is from Haiti, has been to Haiti or works in or for Haiti has seen their lives changed.
But you know what? The sun came up again today. No, in Michigan, you can't see it because it is hidden behind clouds, but the light comes through and the darkness is sent away.
And with that light comes God's call to love. God calls us to be ordinary people that he uses in extraordinary ways. Non-typical ways. Ways that make a difference for the least of these.
Particularly, God calls us to make a difference for those who desperately need someone to care about their physical needs, care about their emotional needs and care about their spiritual needs.
In many ways, for those who care about Haiti, today is New Years Day. We've been given a gift that thousands in Haiti didn't get. Don't waste it.
The children in Haiti need us.
Are you in?
