May 31st 2012 – Guerson much like his little brother Kendy was in rough shape physically and emotionally. He weighed in at 30.5 lbs and 39 inches. He had fungus on his scalp and scabies on his hands and feet. Guerson was afraid and intimidated. Peering fearfully at us from behind half closed eyes, he didn’t make a peep but silently, without the strength to resist, he obediently followed his friends as we tried to get them accounted for and settled into their new home.
1 yr later – Guerson still carries a sad fear around with him, though we see evidence of it less and less, his interaction with adults can at times still be very cautious. We know that Guerson has a long way to go yet but we give great thanks today for this little boy and the lengths that he has come this far. Though his hurt runs deep we know our God is the ultimate healer. Guerson loves noise and action! From the appearance of his tiny frame of 37 lbs/43 inches you would think him sensitive and intimidated, he is that but only with adults. With his peers he’s in the center of it all, bossy, and strong, he holds his own, and leads other behind him in games and behavior. Please continue to pray with us for Guerson his ability to trust, to feel safe, to have security among us, and for the future of him and his little brother Kendy.
“Behold, I make all things new.”
