Trouble at the Haitian/Dominican Border

OK, the border has been closed since Tuesday.  I guess that there is a lot of unrest and a semi-truck of cement was stolen from a Dominican driver besides all of the other things that have happened recently.  Dominican say they won’t open the border until the cement is returned!  Yes, like that is ever going to happen!

Hopefully, the governments will come to an agreement and someone will pay for the cement.  In the meantime, I am looking at airplane flights into the Dominican Republic from Haiti.  Praying that I can go today or tomorrow.

The bus station people said they do not have any idea when the border will open and so cannot give me any type of time line.  They did tell me that I could use my bus ticket to return to Haiti from Santo Domingo if I take the plane over.

This week has been a very difficult one at GLA.  A lot of things going on that are testing just how much faith we have in God as the rock of our foundation!  Thankfully, He is and will always be the one that we lean on and I have faith that he will take care of lots of big things that are going on right now with staff, car problems, finances, etc.  then to top it all of, at 9:50 PM last night, we experienced a 4.6 earthquake in Haiti!  Yikes!  We were hoping we were done with earthquakes for a while!

My week just keeps getting better and better and better….

And it is only Thursday! Surprised smile

Praying for all of you there! This is a time of real battle, not against flesh and blood.
