Update on how I am feeling…

I have been ill since Sunday.  My fever would not go down and I developed vomiting along the way.  I could not drink or eat and even the thought of food made me ill!

We could not figure why I was not getting better.  After two days of antibiotics, they should have be working and my fever going away.  But it was not going away and it would go high at times.

Today, I could not take it anymore.  My fever was ranging from 100 F to 101 F and I was sick all of the time.  It was not 104F anymore, but I still felt awful!

I talked to one of our board members who knew some doctors and he went to work trying to find help for me.  one of the doctors called me and agreed that I probably needed some fluids and worked to find me some that I could take here at home.  Of course, I had to plea with him to allow me to take IV fluids at home.  Everyone wanted me in the hospital but I knew we could do this much easier if I stayed home and it is a lot less costly!

The doctor also persuaded me to call the hospital and check my lab work to be sure that the antibiotic that they gave me worked against the microorganism that I had.  Well, the microorganism was resistant to the antibiotic and that is why I was not getting better!  They switched my antibiotic and I am sitting here with a needle in my arm and fluid going into my vein as I write this update!

Just getting some fluids in has helped and I feel better tonight.  I actually ate an Arby’s Roast Beef sandwich tonight for supper.  It was the only thing that sounded good to me.

I am very thankful that John and my mother and sister were here when I got so sick.  I do not know if I could have called for help when I needed it because I was  totally out of my head on Sunday night.  I am very thankful to God for watching over me and putting people there when I needed them!

So, I think I am getting better although it is going to take a couple of days before I am up on my feet again.  Thank you all who have been praying for me.l

Oh boy, we will be praying some more. SC became a US citizen today! Jill and Joe had such a happy day, and they are due here on Friday so we can welcome the new little citizen. Take care of yourself and do what they tell you! There will be much prayer going up from a lot of people for you I know. I am sure you scared John to death and he will need prayer too!

Hope you feel better! But remember your health is more important than money, so you need to get the proper care. I live on an island in the Caribbean and I know how expensive paying for healthcare can be on and off island. Take care of yourself!

Praying that the your road to recovery will be a short uneventful one. Bob and I are still praying for your health, the up comeing fundraisers and GLA. Take care, listen to your body and don't take on more that you can handle. Remember that you are LOVED, not only by God but many people around the world.
