We recently found out that one of our babies, Frantina, has tumor on her cervical spine. Her development went from sitting up and standing with help to not being able to sit up at all. She is weak. We did not know that Haiti now has an MRI Imaging Center, but once we found out, we took her to get an MRI and it showed the tumor just between her shoulder blades at the bottom of her neck.
She has seen several doctors and also had multiple tests since she started having problems. We have checked her abdomen and lungs to see if this tumor originated somewhere else, but those areas were normal. I need to get her out of Haiti for treatment quickly. We found her father to come and go to Immigration to get her passport quickly. Now, I need to find a doctor and hospital who will treat her. She needs this tumor removed before it paralyses her. I may try sending her to the Dominican for treatment if I can find a resource there who can help just because it would be quicker. We need some funds to send her over and see a doctor. This is urgent! Please can anyone help her?
Alaine is doing so well! After her seizures and multiple blood transfusions, I was so afraid that she would have some developmental issues and when she first started waking up, she was reacting slowly. But now, she is smiling, and doing age appropriate things. God protected her. I am so thankful, because she could easily have been severely affected by her illness. I so want to send this baby back to her mother as a healthy and happy child! Her mother has already lost 17 babies. We are doing our best to make sure that she survives to be reunited with her mother!
Louna is doing great! She is just the most perfect little baby. If I was 20 years younger, I would adopt her myself! Her mother has not returned since I sent her home at Christmas time. I hope when she does that she will act more mature and take care of her beautiful baby girl like she needs to so that Louna can develop into a beautiful child.
Sebastian finally got all of the pins and wires out of his feet and legs! They put casts on his feet! He has to have them on for some time before he can start physical therapy to learn to walk again, but slowly we are reaching a point where he will be walking and running like all of the other kids at the Toddler House. Sebastian needs a family. We are praying that God will speak to a family's heart about Sebastian and he will find a forever family soon.
