What did you do on Summer Vacation?

WE LOVE our teachers!  They are five of our most dedicated, patient, smart, compassionate women on staff.  These women could not be more deserving, nor more READY for break when the end of the year rolls around.   The kids on the other hand would choose to have school 7 days a week if they could.  We usually take four weeks off a year.  Just so our teachers can regroup and refresh and begin a “new year”  with enthusiasm.   We had break this year over the last month. As of today school is back in session and the kids are ready for some constructive, organized, (and of course fun and interesting) learning.  We had a fantastic summer break this year.  Always very full and very busy trying to keep the kids entertained and make their vacation just a little more special by doing things we don’t have time for, or can’t manage at other times in the year.  They made a list this year for us, of what they wanted… and I think we got them all checked off and surprised them with a few others.   Here are a few of them…

We crafted…

A visiting team brought with them a ton of ambition brought to the kids at Toddler House a real “summer camp” day.  They sang funny “campfire” songs complete with actions.  Had a Bible lesson. Played musical chairs.  And totally new to them Tie Dyed t-shirts – a vital part of every kids’ childhood.  The kids call their “matching shirts uniforms” and like to try and save them until they are all clean on the same day to wear together.

We baked…

We did yard work (what summer is complete without it)…

We had a Pool Day…

Thank you for all you guys do for these kids! The teachers have done an awesome job with Michno, he is getting ready to begin Kindergarten and is really looking forward to it. He is better prepared than many of the incoming Kindergarten students at my school! I am sure he will have as smooth a transition to school as he did into our family, it is hard to believe he has been with us for less than 3 months! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
