Work has begun on the new GLA guest house.
So much has happened since the last post! The kids are moved in to the toddler houses, the school is fully functioning, and the play yard is seeing plenty of action. It is great to see the kids in their new space, fully enjoying all that it offers!
Work has begun on the new GLA guest house. The Haitian crew has been working on its foundation, floor, and block walls. They have reached a point a few feet higher than the tops of the windows and doors. They work fast, and they are work hard.
The same crew is also working on building a trash house. They are building the trash house with more of the stone that is found across the Fort Jacques property. They are also working on replacing the incinerator between the barn and the bunkhouse.
A septic field was recently installed along the northwest wall of the property. Two wonderful teams from Illinois and Indiana, along with our volunteers, staff, and Haitian crew, moved rock and dirt, and dug trenches for the pipe. It is now covered up and ready to go!
Nearly every day, the sounds of progress can be heard. Fort Jacques is bustling with people, trucks, and equipment almost all the time. Praise God for the way it is all taking shape! It will be wonderful to see the way He continues to use this place for His glory!
