I use Amazon.com a lot for books and gifts. I am really excited when I learned today about a new program they introduced where my purchases help charities at the same time! Of course, I chose God’s Littlest Angels as my charity to help and I’m hoping that those of you who shop through Amazon.com will chose God’s Littlest Angels too!
You just do your normal shopping through Amazon.com but a portion goes to GLA! How great is that??!! Here is the information that Amazon posted on the website today.
Amazon introduced a new program today called Amazon Smile, which will automatically donate 0.5% of your purchases to the charity you select. It costs you (and the charitable organizations) nothing, and it’s just like shopping on Amazon normally, but you get to do a world of good.
The hard part is choosing which of the million or so charitable organizations you want the AmazonSmile Foundation to donate to. You can change your charity at any time and search or suggest one when you first set up AmazonSmile.
Items that are eligible for the donations will be marked as such on their product pages. Unfortunately, Subscribe-and-Save purchases and renewals don’t count.
The only real catch is you have to start your shopping at smile.amazon.com (which means you have to update your bookmark if you want to do this), and shopping from the Amazon apps, Kindle, or through affiliate links won’t count. (the first time you go through Amazon Smile and choose God’s Littlest Angels, it will remember your choice and then you open your Amazon account as normal)
Otherwise, it’s just like shopping on Amazon—only you get to support your favorite charity without doing anything extra (not even donating time or effort).
Please remember GLA through Amazon Smile as you shop this Christmas Season!
