Hurricane Irma looks like it is coming straight toward Haiti. We will know more about it’s path hopefully on Monday. Southern Haiti still has not recovered from the devastating wind and rain that came with Hurricane Matthew back in October of 2016. It is too early to know for sure what path Hurricane Irma will take as it gets closer to the eastern side of the Caribbean. We are praying that it turns north and dies out at sea.
Unfortunately, we have few volunteers at this time to help us prepare for the storm. Everyone available is picking up toys and items from the yard and putting them in a safe place. We are searching for plywood to put over the school house windows. John Bickel and Tim Parker are planning how they can best protect the children and what we need to do in the next few days if the hurricane continues on it’s path toward the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
Please be praying for everyone in the path of Hurricane Irma. Pray for God to change the hurricane’s path and send it north away from land. Pray for protection of everyone here in Haiti and especially pray for the children and staff at God’s Littlest Angels. Pray for our three babies in incubators and what we need to do to protect these babies if the storm should move toward Haiti and how we can move them in their incubators into the first floor of our school house which is also our storm safety center.
We will keep you informed as the storm moves closer to Haiti.
