God’s Littlest Angels

Year End at GLA

Baby Z was brought to GLA because he didn’t breath at birth but is doing great now!

What a year we have had at GLA! 2018 saw so many changes for our staff and the children. We had Joel and Ingrid Rockemann and their family leave in August after their two year commitment was finished. We were sad to see them go. We have had two Children’s’ Home Managers come and go since July. For now, Hannah Tschetter and two of our Haitian staff, Vivianne Louis and Ruth Charles will be the Children’s Home Manager. Please pray that this job sharing will go smoothly for the staff and the children.

Doesn’t his smile just make you want to smile back at him?

We also had a new Sponsorship Coordinator, Media Coordinator and photographer come to join us as staff. Gabby Hunsucker has a true heart for Haiti and the children. We are so thankful that she is joining our staff. Please keep Gabby in your prayers as she settles in to GLA.

These boys are the best of friends and hang out and chill together!

We have a new nurse at GLA. Dani Nilsen came from Australia to be our nurse! Her coming has been an answer to prayer. She has been so busy in our NICU with new premature babies and also children with colds and fevers! Keep her in your prayers.

We are so thankful that we have incubators, CPAP breathing systems, oxygen, and warmer beds. Without them, we could not help babies like Baby A survive.

We have 18 babies in our NICU at the moment. That is so many babies! It’s wall to wall babies! Just when we start seeing the preemies growing, new babies come in! We have sent several babies back to their families but it seems that every time one goes home, within two days another comes to fill that bed! We want to see these babies have a chance of survival and returning to live with their families and that is happening. Keep them all in your prayers as they stabilize and can get off CPAP and oxygen and start growing.

Does Baby C’s photo just make you want to pick her up and give her a big hug?

The older children have done well in school this year. They speak Haitian Creole, French and English! Even the ones that are 2 to 4 are speaking a few words in French and English. We are so proud of our teachers and Hannah Tschetter whose main position is School Director. Hannah also teaches the English program.

We have the same Haitian staff this year as we’ve had for the last 3 years! We have lost a couple of staff members to illnesses but we haven’t had to change staff for several years. It’s nice when we have staff who love their work and do a good job. Please pray for our staff that God would bless them and that they continue to love the children like they do.

We need help to keep caring the babies in the NICU, run our school program, and our program to assist babies with families who need short term help with their babies. We also need help to pay for staff salaries, drinking water for the children, water to fill our cisterns, and diesel to run our generator so we can keep the incubators and oxygen running.

Please make an end of year donation to help the children. Without your help, we cannot keep the programs going. We need you to partner with us. Together we can make a difference in the lives of these children. One child at a time….

Please help the children by making a Donation Now
